Five Year Trophy: Handmade with Love

Restored to Glory presents awards in an Awards Ceremony to recognize those dancers who have been with us for three, five, eight, and ten years. The five year award is a trophy, handcrafted by Miss Peggy's husband, Joel. He has lovingly handcrafted these for many years, each one getting special attention to make sure it is beautiful for the dancer receiving it. 

1-Bringing the walnut home is the first step in making trophies

2-Selecting the best grain for the front of the trophies

3-Planing the wood to get the exact thickness and make it smooth.

4-Step one of inserting the cross

5-Can you see the very thin white piece of maple wood that will be part of the cross?

6-Gluing and clamping the maple in place to finish the inserted cross

7-Sawing the angle on the trophy

8-This router puts another angle cut on the edges of the trophy

9-Spraying many thin coats of finish to the base and pedestal

10-Applying felt feet

11-Assembling the dancer on the top

12-Screwing on the marble name plate and base.

13-The trophies are finished! Dancer on top for girls, and a gold cross on top for our guys
